Curacao, Netherlands Antilles
Me taking a photograph of the Willemstad waterfront from the Queen Emma Bridge. This bridge spans the Sint Anna Bay which divides city into two main sections, Punda and Otrabanda. The bridge, which dates from 1888 and was restored in 1939, swings open to allow sizeable shipping access to the inner harbours. It’s powered by two diesel propeller engines and is known locally as the Swinging Old Lady.
